1972 LOLA T300
Chassis number HU12 was purchased by our customer in a damaged condition, having been crashed by its previous owner at Silverstone in early 2009. He commissioned us to rebuild the car and we called on the expertise of Bill Durrant to strip and rebuild it with support from our in-house team and external specialists.
Although it was a relatively low speed accident the damage was sufficiently serious to justify investing in a new monocoque, which was fabricated by local specialist Lee Leicester. The roll cage and numerous suspension components were also replaced, and a new fuel tank installed.
The engine and gearbox had been rebuilt by TT Motors not long before the accident and, having been properly stored, were found to be in excellent condition. A new clutch, brake and fuel lines, master cylinders, nose cone and front wings have been sourced and fitted, and the brakes and suspension rebuilt. Happily the main body section was not too badly damaged and has been repaired and painted in house.
The rebuild has now been completed and this stunning example is now for sale.
